No HostIdea monitoring window is open for these hosts yet. Uptime and response are published third-party measurements, one per host by a fixed rule (longest stated independent window, and its response figure or the most recent one); methods differ, so read them as a guide. Each review lists every source with its method.

The headline price of shared hosting is a first-term discount. What you pay for most of the plan’s life is the renewal rate, and how much you pay up front is set by the billing term the discount requires. This list ranks ten of the twenty-six hosts we cover on the renewal price of their cheapest shared plan, with the term and the plan’s gaps noted, from each host’s pricing page and terms read on 13 and 14 October 2026.

The lowest renewal on the site belongs to AccuWeb Hosting, whose entry plan renews at the price it was sold at: $2.79 a month on three years. Namecheap, Verpex and InterServer renew under $7, and InterServer is the only host here that sells its cheapest plan month to month at that price. Two hosts sell a $1.99 plan (Hosting.com, FastComet); Hosting.com needs a 48-month term for it and renews at $13.99, which is why it is not ranked.

## Frequently asked questions

- **### What is the real cheapest plan here?**: On renewal, AccuWeb Bootstrap++ at $2.79, Namecheap Stellar at $5.88, Verpex Bronze at $6 and InterServer Standard at $7. On the first term, Hosting.com Starter and FastComet Starter at $1.99, but Hosting.com needs a 48-month term and renews at $13.99, which keeps it off this list.

- **### Should I take the longest term to get the lowest price?**: Only if you are sure about the host. A 48-month term at $2.99 is $143.52 up front and the refund window is 30 days at most hosts. A 12-month term costs a little more per month and limits the damage if the host disappoints. AccuWeb and InterServer are the exceptions: their price does not depend on the term.

- **### What does a $1.99 plan leave out?**: Usually the free domain (FastComet, Namecheap), a second site, and storage above 10 to 15 GB. Backups vary: FastComet includes thirty daily copies, Namecheap backs up twice a week and restores by ticket.
